You can obtain information about your data stored by us at any time free of charge and assert your right to correct, block, object to or delete your data. To do so, please contact the data protection officer. If you wish to object to the collection, processing or use of your data by the Hunger Project Switzerland in accordance with this data protection declaration as a whole or for individual measures such as project information with an appeal for donations, you can also send your objection by e-mail or letter to the above-mentioned contact details.

If the data is required for the fulfilment of a contract or for the implementation of pre-contractual measures, premature deletion of the data is only possible insofar as contractual or legal obligations do not prevent deletion.

General Information

The protection of your data is important to us. We respect your privacy and are committed to ensuring that your data is processed in accordance with the applicable laws, regardless of whether you provide us with your data electronically, by post or by telephone. We only process personal data to the extent necessary to provide a functional website and our content and services that you would like us to make available to you as an interested party, customer, donor, e-newsletter subscriber or competition participant.

In any case, personal data is only processed within the framework of the statutory provisions. The Hunger Project Switzerland is subject to Swiss law. This also applies to data protection. If you provide us with personal data of third parties (data of friends or family members, e.g. when donating a Hunger Project membership/donation in the name of a third party), please ensure that the information is correct, that this person has taken note of this data protection declaration and has given their consent to the transfer of data to the Hunger Project Switzerland.

2. Use of Personal Data

We process your personal data primarily for the purpose stated at the time of collection, e.g. to subscribe to our newsletter, answer your enquiry, process your participation in events or competitions or your donations and membership. In addition, we also process your data for marketing purposes within the framework of the applicable laws. For example, we process your personal data for the following processing purposes in connection with:

• Your donation to the Hunger Project Switzerland
• The organisation and implementation of customer communication (by post or via electronic means of communication)

3. Disclosure of Personal Data

We forward certain data to third parties if necessary for the purposes stated here in the data protection declaration, e.g. to make use of technical or organisational services that we require to fulfil the stated purposes or our other business activities. Cookies, Tracking and other Technologies in Connection with the Use of our Website

We typically use “cookies” and similar technologies on our websites to identify your browser or device. A cookie is a small file that is sent to your computer or automatically stored on your computer or mobile device by the web browser you use when you visit our website. Secure Data Transmission

Personal data that you provide to us via the website forms is transmitted to us in encrypted form via a secure connection. The security procedure used (SSL Secure Sockets Layer) corresponds to the usual state of the art. All Hunger Project Switzerland employees who handle your data are obliged to comply with data protection regulations. Access to the system is via an authorisation procedure. SSL encryption (recognisable by https:// in the address bar of the browser) is a protocol for encrypting data during transmission from the web server to the browser. This transmission offers a particularly high level of security. During transmission, your personal data is encrypted between your computer and our SSL
server using the SSL protocol.

On this website, with the help of the following service providers, among others:

Information about the surfing behaviour of website visitors is collected and stored in anonymised and/or pseudonymised form for marketing purposes and for the continuous improvement of the website. With the help of a so-called “web bug”, site visitors can be identified technically and without personal reference, and pseudonymised profiles can then be created. The data is then stored on your computer in encrypted and compressed form using cookies. This cookie is only accessible to the visitor and the service provider. We reserve the right to adapt the service providers if necessary to meet our needs. The service providers analyse surfing behaviour and can then display targeted product recommendations as personalised advertising banners on other websites. Under no circumstances can this data be used to personally identify visitors to this website. The collected data is only used to improve the offer. It will not be used for any other purpose.

Use of Social Media Plug-Ins

We also use plug-ins from social networks such as Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Flickr, LinkedIn and Instagram on our websites. You can see this by clicking on the relevant icons. We have configured these elements so that they are deactivated by default. If you activate them (by clicking on them), the operators of the respective social networks can register that you are on our website and where and can use this information for their purposes. The processing of your personal data is then the responsibility of this operator in accordance with its data protection provisions. We do not receive any information about you from them.

Newsletter – Mailchimp

The newsletter is sent using the mailing service provider “MailChimp”, a newsletter mailing platform of the US provider Rocket Science Group, LLC, 675 Ponce De Leon Ave NE #5000, Atlanta, GA 30308, USA. You can view the privacy policy of the mailing service provider here. The Rocket Science Group LLC d/b/a MailChimp is certified under the Privacy Shield Agreement and thus offers a guarantee of compliance with the European level of data protection (Privacy Shield). The mailing service provider is used on the basis of our legitimate interests pursuant to Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR and an order processing contract pursuant to Art. 28 para. 3 sentence 1 GDPR. The mailing service provider may use the recipients’ data in pseudonymous form, i.e. without assigning it to a user, to optimise or improve its own services, e.g. to technically optimise the mailing and presentation of the newsletter or for statistical purposes. However, the mailing service provider does not use the data of our newsletter recipients to write to them itself or to pass the data on to third parties.

Liability for Links

The Hunger Project Switzerland hereby expressly declares that no illegal content was recognisable on the linked pages at the time the links were created. The Hunger Project Switzerland has no influence whatsoever on the current and future design, content or authorship of the linked pages. It therefore hereby expressly distances itself from all content of all linked pages that were changed after the link was created. This statement applies to all links and references set within its own website. Liability for illegal, incorrect or incomplete content and in particular for damage resulting from the use or non use of such information lies solely with the provider of the page to which reference is made, and not with the person who merely refers to the respective publication via links.
